Welcome to the Emrich lab at Notre Dame!
A common theme in our research is deriving longer-range computational problems in the process helping our Biology and Chemistry colleagues with bioinformatics needs. This has helped keep us on the leading computational edge of high-throughput sequencing analysis and cloud computing by, for example, co-leading multiple international genomics efforts such as the Anopheles genome cluster and i5K consortium.
We are also currently developing software tools for non-model organisms, especially those derived from ecological samples, which are made available here. This work is largely externally funded by multiple awards from the National Institutes of Health.
